Adam (AJ) Zeglen: Manager/Head Strength Coach

AJ has worked extensively with professional, collegiate, and amateur athletes from around the world. He is the manager and head strength coach at Focus Fitness where he brings over 10 years of experience and his unique brand of training techniques to professional athletes, fitness enthusiasts and community members alike. He comes from a diverse training background having competed in a multitude of different sports including basketball, rugby, playing football for the University of Manitoba Bisons, competing in natural bodybuilding at a national level, running the Manitoba Marathon, and holding a world record for the world’s longest car push in 24 hours. AJ has trained athletes in a variety of sports ranging from racquetball to football, he has worked with Hockey Canada, the Winnipeg Jets and many other hockey and football players from development ages through to professional in a number of leagues including the NHL, AHL, KHL, ECHL, and CFL. Helping people attain their goals and realize their dreams is what drives AJ. He enjoys helping people become the best versions of themselves and truly believes working out in the gym helps people find that.

Kris Aguiar

Kris graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology in 2016 and is currently enrolled in the Masters of Physiotherapy program at the University of Manitoba. His desire to help individuals achieve their goals drives him to continue expanding his knowledge on exercise and the human body. Kris comes from a diverse athletic background; he continues to play soccer at a competitive level and occasionally tosses on the pads when his athletes need an extra goalie on the ice. In the gym he enjoys long farmer walks on the turf, deadlifts, and Saturday morning conditioning. He believes in building a strong working relationship with all his clients and strives to help them reach the highest levels.


 

Riley Holloway

Riley graduated from the University of Manitoba and received his Bachelor of Kinesiology with distinction in 2018. Riley has a multi-sport background focusing on hockey and basketball. He began training and acquiring exercise knowledge at an early age and enjoys motivating, empowering, and inspiring all individuals with his exercise knowledge. Riley continues to progress himself physically and mentally through multi-dimensional training. His favourite form of exercise is resistance training and conditioning. In his spare time, Riley enjoys spending time outdoors, camping and exploring the wilderness and would like to train to complete a triathlon!


 

Kaelin Baydock

Kaelin comes back to focus as a trainer after being an athlete in the gym for 10 years prior.  He brings an extensive sports background with a primary focus on hockey.  Most recently Kaelin played hockey for the MJHL Winnipeg Blues and still continues to be active in the hockey community through coaching. Kaelin, or known around the gym as Bayds, is currently in school to become a teacher and loves to see his students/athletes grow and succeed. In the gym, he enjoys bike sprints, leg days, and prowler work.


Myles Bennett

Myles has joined the Focus team after many years of growing his love for health and wellness. Myles played for the Norman Northstars and also played Lacrosse for Team Manitoba. Myles is currently in school working towards a BA in Sociology and Management. His favourite exercises in the gym are bench presses, deadlifts, and squats. Myles is excited to help people meet their goals.


Avery Suzuki

Avery has joined the team after many years of being a multi-sport athlete. Her main focus was ringette and hockey. Avery has a passion for health and fitness and enjoys working out in the gym as much as she can. She is currently studying at the University of Manitoba and working towards getting her advanced BA in English and Psychology. In the gym, she enjoys core strengthening and back day. Avery is looking forward to meeting new people and helping them reach their fitness goals!
