At Jets Hockey Development our programs aim to focus on developing a players individual hockey skills. Throughout your winter season an emphasis is commonly placed on team tactics. This spring is a great opportunity to help your child work on their individual skills, and be introduced to age appropriate team systems and concepts.
The Future Jets Program is designed to help players build confidence and help to use abilities to contribute to the overall success of the team. Development for players will take place in practice which is why there is a heavy emphasis on the number of practices compared to the number of games. Coaches will take time to work with players in practice through specific drills and the use constructive feedback to help players continue to develop skills to the point they will use them in games.
During on-ice practices, goaltenders will receive instruction from a dedicated goaltender instructor and will be integrated into drills for immediate learning reinforcement. The focus will be on Angles, Balance, Co-ordination, and improving goalie skating techniques with the common goal of maximizing net space.

Dates: April/May 2020
Teams: 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007
Players: 17 (9 Forwards, 6 Defence & 2 Goalies)
Location: Bell MTS Iceplex
Players must have played A1 (Male) level or higher to register. If we have enough female players, we will explore the option to have a female team at a specific age group. To finalize your registration, a letter from your coach is required to confirm that your player played at an A1 level.
Limited space available for each position. We will look to have 9 forwards, 6 defense and 2 goalies per roster. This will eliminate the issues that came up where 13 forwards register with no-one wanting to play defense. Sessions will cover drills in practice to allow players to learn all skills required to play all positions (i.e. drills will have forwards play defense and defense play forward).
If your player is playing in a rural community, they must be playing at the highest level to be eligible to register.
*If your son or daughter did not play A1 hockey or is looking for a specialized program please contact Dave Cameron at firstname.lastname@example.org or 204-926-5876 for other spring programs such as Power Skating and Puck Skills.
