2020 Spring: Female Shooting and Scoring

This program provides the opportunity for female players to begin their off-season training through an on-ice training program that can take their shooting skills to the next level.  Through detailed instructions and specific progressions players will become more confident when they are in scoring positions.

In order to have confidence to shoot the puck in games, players need to build confidence with the puck in practice.

Developing good shooting mechanics and gaining confidence with the puck are important steps in any player’s development. These are skills that are very often ignored in the female game. By learning and working through these skills, players can see improvements when being in those situations. Shooting mechanics and scoring mentality require repetitive training.  Player’s shooting techniques will be reviewed, and dedicated drills will be given to players within each session. This is a great opportunity to become more confident when handling the puck and releasing it quicker to score.

This program is designed and coached by Venla Hovi and will allow female players to work with high level female staff.  The goal of this program is to help develop a scoring mentality by building each players confidence with the puck and progressing that confidence into their shooting.
