2021 Spring: Shooting and Scoring
This program provides the opportunity for players to begin their off-season training through a specific training component that can take their shooting skills to the next level, and make them more confident when they are in scoring positions:
In order to have confidence to shoot the puck in games, players need to build confidence with the puck in practice.
Developing good shooting mechanics and gaining confidence with the puck are important steps in any player’s development. Shooting mechanics and scoring mentality require repetitive training. Player’s shooting techniques will be assessed, and dedicated drills will be given to address weaknesses. This is a great opportunity to become more confident when handling the puck and releasing it faster to score.
Jets Hockey Development will be offering players the opportunity to enroll in a training program where they can work on specific shooting techniques needed to be able to transition them into a scoring mentality. Designed and coached by the Jets Hockey Development team, this specific program will allow players to work through detailed progressions which will allow players to see improvements.
SHOOTING AND SCORING
Sessions will cover in detail:
|Wrist Shot||In Tight Scoring|
|Fakes and changing the angle||One Timers|
|Quick Release||Backhand Shot|
The tempo of this session is not the same as a typical practice as we will be working on shooting and scoring which involves more play around the net. This is NOT a skating program but rather it is designed to focus specifically on developing confidence around the net.
